I just ordered my unit 619 model do I have to update software as soon as I get it I ordered from amazon not here yet but getting ready for when it arrives

ordered from amazon yesterday do I have to update the software soon as it comes or should this unit be ready to use on mostly GM trucks..really hope I dont have to update a brand new unit thats not very good in my opinion ..586-292-2979 Eric Heier MI the unit I ordered is the 619 model -

AL619 is OBDII scanner with ABS and SRS function. Once you got it, you can update the vehicle software to the latest version. Usually the software version from the factory is not the latest version. -

It would nice if they said in their ads that it isn`t updated when you receive and that you`ll need to buy a card reader in order to update it.
It`s sad that they are selling outdated diagnostic equipment without including the appropriate hardware necessary to update the equipment.
